CELPIP testing?

  • CELPIP is Canada’s foremost general English language proficiency test for permanent residency, citizenship, and proficient designation. 
  • CELPIP stands for Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program. 
  • CELPIP is managed by Paragon Testing Enterprises, a subsidiary of the University of British Columbia (UBC). 

There are two types of CELPIP tests

 

CELPIP General Test is an exam that measures the capability of a non-native English speaker who is going to migrate to Canada. It is an English test to prove the level of the candidate is applying for permanent residency in Canada under the 

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)- 

The most popular immigration program which allows a person with suitable education, experience, age, and language skills to procure permanent residence in Canada.

  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)  
  • Federal skilled trades program, etc.

It involves complete testing which is divided into four sections – Listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Being a detailed assessment test, it runs down to 3 hours. 

 

CELPIP General test LS:  IRCC approved test for Permanent Citizens. 

CELPIP General test LS is accepted by IRCC as one of the designated English language tests for Canadian citizenship, apart from IELTS. 

It is for a non-native English person who needs to take the Listening and Speaking proficiency test for Canadian Citizenship, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship in Canada. Being a brief version, it prolongs for not more than an hour.
