We congratulate you for coming so far! I assume that if you are reading this article, you are already halfway through your international dreams. You may have recently started your IELTS prep and now you are on your way to the IELTS registration.
IELTS booking is a fairly easy procedure that we will try to make easier for you. So, what are we waiting for! Let’s check out the step-by-step guide for IELTS registration.
STEP 1: Paper-Based Or Computer Based?
You know your comfort best! Are you more comfortable writing your exam with pen and pencil? Or do you do your best when it’s a keyboard under your fingers? It’s completely your choice to make. Once you land upon the decision of computer or paper you are good to go to the next step.
STEP 2: Payment
IELTS is a fairly costly test. That makes it even more crucial to tackle in minimum attempts to get the desired band. As for the USA, it costs $250. And this payment is for one attempt.
If you are not satisfied with your first band score and decide to go for another attempt you will have to register again.
This means you will have to pay another $250 to attempt IELTS a second time. There is virtually no limit on how many attempts you can give. However, the fee of $250 for each attempt is costly enough to encourage you in cracking IELTS the first time.
STEP 3: Set the Date
You should start with deciding when you want to give IELTS.
For computer-based tests, several tests are available for most times of the year, month and even day. Even though, written IELTS test is only available 4 times a month if IELTS academic and 2 times if IELTS general.
There are also popular dates that get booked as early as a month. It’ll be wise to book a date a month or so before you plan to take a test.
What Do I Need To Submit For the IELTS Exam?
IELTS either asks you to submit a valid passport or national identity document. Remember to fill in the details of only that document that you can physically bring to the test centre.
What Happens After IELTS Registration?
Once you have successfully registered for IELTS you will receive confirmation of registration in your email. You can get in touch with your test centre and ask for special accommodations if applicable.
Don’t worry if an emergency comes up and you have to postpone or cancel the IELTS test date. Although different countries have slightly different systems, usually, you have to submit postponement or cancellation requests in writing. You should submit these details to the IELTS test centers you have registered in.
If you don’t require special accommodations and no emergency comes up, everything will go as per the schedule.
Utilize the period from your registration and test for learning the IELTS pattern and practicing to the best of your ability.
